OREANDA-NEWS. Representatives of the Russian tourism business have created a petition asking the government to open countries to travelers that will help replace Turkey.

The authors explain that the decision of the Russian headquarters, which suspended flights with Turkey and Tanzania for a month and a half (from April 15 to June 1), caused a collapse in the tourism industry. According to business representatives, on the eve of the May holidays, not only many new vouchers have been booked, but also travels postponed from last year, which did not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, were among them.

The authors of the petition write: "We ask you to consider the possibility of opening alternative destinations (Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Mexico), where the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 is at a safe level and the countries are ready to receive our tourists, do not leave fellow citizens for the second year in a row without rest and do not take away the work of travel agencies and tour operators at the height of the season. We are not asking for money, give us the opportunity to work and earn money. "

The petition emphasizes that most people have agreed vacations on certain dates, and they have no way to reschedule them at will.

Experts are also worried that the Russian tourism industry will not survive the second lockdown and an almost complete stop in sales.
