OREANDA-NEWS. Turkey is preparing to resume flights with Russia from June 1. This was stated by the Turkish Ambassador to Russia Mehmet Samsar. According to him, due to strict anti-epidemic measures, the increase in the incidence of COVID-19 is reduced. So, on April 15, 61,400 new cases of infection were recorded, and on May 3 — 24,733.

A number of provinces in Turkey, including the resorts of Antalya and Mugla, have left the «red zone», which includes provinces with a very high risk of COVID-19 infection, according to the Ministry of Health of the country.

The number of cases of coronavirus per 100 thousand people fell over the past week in Antalya to 200, Mugle — to 183. Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir remained in the «red zone» with indicators of 532, 362 and 223 per 100 thousand population. The lowest incidence was registered in the south-eastern Turkish provinces of Sirnak, Mardin, Siirt, Van and Sanliurfa (less than 100 per 100 thousand population).

In April, Turkey experienced a sharp jump in the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. On April 16, the daily increase in new cases exceeded 63 thousand. On April 12, Russia suspended air traffic with Turkey until June 1. On May 4, 28,997 new infections and 336 deaths of COVID-19 patients were registered in the country.
