OREANDA-NEWS. The suspension of the import of tangerines from one Turkish supplier to Russia does not mean a complete ban on their export from Turkey, the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic explained to RIA Novosti.

"Our ministry has not received official notification from Rospotrebnadzor about this decision, however, as far as we understand, it does not apply to the entire export of tangerines from Turkey to Russia. This is a specific company in whose products something was found - this sometimes happens, deliveries are suspended until the situation is rectified, "a ministry spokesman told the agency.

Rospotrebnadzor decided to suspend the import of Turkish mandarins into the Russian Federation, since pesticides were found in them, the press service of the department reports.

The statement says that the service found violations of mandatory requirements of Russian legislation in the "Fresh Mandarins" food products.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, in these tangerines imported from Turkey, residual amounts of the pesticide Chlorpyrifos were detected, the concentration of which exceeds the maximum permissible level.

The department said that in connection with the violations recorded since October 29, the import of these products into the territory of Russia is temporarily suspended until further notice.

In October, it also became known that some Chinese products were temporarily not allowed to be imported into Russia. It was reported that the import of goods was suspended due to the identification of prohibited components in them.

Earlier, nutritionist Elena Solomatina spoke about the benefits and dangers of consuming tangerines, and also named the groups of people for whom this fruit is contraindicated.
