"In connection with the incoming questions about whether Russians vaccinated with Sputnik V can enter certain tourist areas of Thailand (the so-called" sandboxes "), we would like to note the following. During the meeting on August 16, 2021, the National Committee for Combating COVID-19, in principle, approved the inclusion of Sputnik V in the list of drugs, the availability of a vaccination certificate for which allows you to arrive in Thailand under the sandbox program, the embassy said.

"The details and terms for the entry into force of the said decision are still being worked out by the Thai specialized departments," the message, which was posted on the diplomatic mission's official Twitter account, says.

It is noted that detailed information about the available tourist areas of Thailand, as well as the procedure for entry will be updated on the website of the Tourism Agency of Thailand.

In particular, Phuket will soon open to Russian tourists vaccinated with Sputnik V, ATOR reports.

Travelers who decide to rest on the popular island will no longer have to serve a 14-day quarantine. The site is opening up to guests vaccinated with Sputnik V, the Bangkok Post notes, citing Thailand's tourism chief, Yutasaka Supasorn.
