OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2016. We expect minimal impact on our customers’ cargo and continue to monitor the situation closely.

In the wake of the information that Hanjin Shipping has commenced Rehabilitation Procedure in Korea, Maersk Line would like to address our customers concerned by this news. Firstly, we would like to stress that we expect minimal impact on our customers’ cargo and continue to monitor the situation closely.

Maersk Line has already Tuesday, August 30, instructed our global operations centers to not load any cargo onto Hanjin owned vessels. We are aware of our customers who have cargo on board two of Hanjin’s operated vessels, Maersk Sebarok and Maersk Senang, sailing on the Chennai Express service between Far East Asia and South East India. While we expect minimal disruption, we are proactively working on reducing impact on cargo delivery. Impacted customers are communicated to directly.

We have also received queries related to our two chartered vessels, Hanjin New Jersey and Hanjin Florida, sailing on the Mashariki service between Far East Asia and East Africa. We would like to stress that, despite their names, neither of these vessels is owned nor operated by Hanjin Shipping; these vessels are fully operated by Maersk Line, and, as such, customers can continue to book shipments with peace of mind.

We strive for this development to not have any impact on our customers whom we will continue to serve with the expertise and scale necessary to reach their goals.
