OREANDA-NEWS. September 07, 2016. Inc. Magazine, in its annual Inc. 500|5000 list has recognized Interstate Moving | Relocation | Logistics (MoveInterstate.com) for the sixth time as one of American’s fastest-growing private U.S. companies. This year, Inc. recognized Interstate’s Logistics company for its outstanding performance. Companies are chosen for the list based on their growth rate for the previous three years. Interstate Logistics revenue grew 74% from 2013 to 2015.

Among the many highly specialized services that Interstate has been called on to perform include receipt, asset management, and delivery and installation of new furnishings and technology medical equipment for new military hospitals at Walter Reed, Ft. Riley, KS and Ft. Benning, GA. Recently, Interstate moved the Northern Virginia offices of law firm Reed Smith to a 28,000-square-foot headquarters in McLean, VA.  The move was completed over just one weekend, with no disruption to the law firm’s business.

Earlier this year, a highly specialized client called on the special products expertise of Interstate Logistics to pack, document, and ship nearly 2,000 units of important movie film stock (over 1.5 million feet) from Wisconsin to Virginia. The film collection contained what is believed to be the only existing original copy of the Thomas Edison Film Company's silent film "Frankenstein." The film had been acquired from a private collector and was made of nitrocellulose-based film (nitrate), which was discontinued from use in the early 1950's because it is highly flammable.

In May, the Washington Business Journal recognized Interstate as the region’s fourth-largest office moving company, the fourth year in a row that Interstate has held this position. The ranking is significant in that the region is one of the largest and fastest growing markets for office space in the country.

“Interstate has developed a reputation as the company that can handle everything from a move around the corner to the most complex, highly specialized moves anywhere in the world, including those of our nation’s military personnel,” said Arthur E. [Bud] Morrissette IV, Chief Executive Officer. “The Interstate team hasbeen able to maintain one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in our industry. This is a strong vote of confidence in the skills, experience and the care they put into every project.”

Interstate, celebrating its 73rd anniversary and third-generation of family ownership and management, is a \\$95-million global enterprise comprising moving and storage, employee relocation services, and supply chain management logistics supporting corporations, government and defense, as well as individuals.
