OREANDA-NEWS. In Yekaterinburg, traffic police officers drew up two reports on driving an electric scooter without a license and driving on the sidewalk in relation to a 20-year-old girl. This is stated on the website of the city Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On the night of May 30, she was driving on the sidewalk on Moskovskaya Street on an electric scooter with a seat and crashed into the right side of a taxi leaving the yard. The girl fell and injured her leg, in the hospital she was found to have a broken ankle.

The girl said that she was driving in first gear at a speed of 15 km/h. Since the scooter's maximum engine power was more than 250 watts, the police attributed it to the vehicle. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yekaterinburg added that the traffic police officers over the past three days also made up 15 scooter drivers reports on driving on the roadway.

It is allowed to ride a scooter on bicycle and pedestrian paths, as well as sidewalks. On public roads, an electric scooter is allowed to ride on the shoulder, if there is one. If it is not present, then it is allowed to drive on the edge of the road against the traffic in one row. This means that you can not overtake pedestrians who are also walking on the roadway. When crossing the road on the «zebra», there is no requirement to dismount, since the driver of the scooter is not a cyclist, and this device is not a vehicle. In the dark and at night when driving outside the city, the scooter driver must attach reflective elements to the clothes and scooter to be clearly visible on the road.
