The agreement helps to strengthen business ties between the two countries. Code sharing applies to Aeroflot flights on the following routes: Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh, Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - St. Petersburg, Ufa and Krasnodar; and also on Vietnam Airlines flights on the routes Hanoi - Moscow (Sheremetyevo), Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc, Nha Trang.

Earlier, during an official visit to the Russian Federation, the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam took part in a solemn event organized by Vietnam Airlines in honor of the 15th anniversary of direct flights between Russia and Vietnam, and officially announced the transfer of airline flights to Sheremetyevo Airport.

The code-sharing agreement was preceded by the signing of a memorandum by two carriers in 2018 and the announcement by Vietnam Airlines to transfer all their flights to Sheremetyevo Airport in July 2019. Comfortable conditions of service and very convenient conditions for passengers, this is what makes this airport one of the best and most popular in Russia, as well as its status as the main hub of airlines - members of the SkyTeam alliance, gives it prestige.

Vietnamese airlines operate three direct flights a week on the Moscow-Hanoi route on a modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Aeroflot makes 6 flights more in this direction, in addition, the company carries out a transfer of passengers every day to Hanoi, and twice a week to Ho Chi Minh City. The company can be considered one of the most reliable in this region. The airline from Vietnam has 25 years of experience behind it, more than 1.6 million transported passengers between Vietnam and Russia. In 2018, Russia ranked sixth in the list of international countries providing the largest inbound tourist flow. According to experts, by 2020 the number of Russian tourists in Vietnam will increase to 1 million.
