OREANDA-NEWSAt least 39 Russian citizens were on the bus in an accident in the Dominican Republic, some of them received injuries of varying severity. This was reported to the Russian media at the Russian Embassy in Venezuela (concurrently in the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic).

“According to the embassy’s office in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, a bus with 39 Russian tourists, had an accident. There are no fatalities among our citizens, but there are several people with injuries of varying severity”, the representative of the diplomatic mission said. The representative of the embassy noted that all victims are assisted in local medical facilities, the rest will be temporarily accommodated in hotels.

The embassy also confirmed that some of the affected Russians are in serious condition. They are currently undergoing emergency operations, according to the diplomatic mission on Facebook. According to the local newspaper, 17 Russians were injured in the accident, seven of them are in serious condition.
