OREANDA-NEWS. Alexander Molokhov, head of the working group on international legal issues at the permanent representation of the Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation, called the comparison of the Black Sea with NATO's "lake" a "provocative stunt".

Earlier, Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu said that the Black Sea has partially turned into a NATO "lake". According to him, "security in the Black Sea region is an integral part of NATO security."

“Crimeans cannot but be outraged by such a provocative trick of a high-ranking Western diplomat,” Molokhov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the activity of NATO intelligence services and the build-up of their presence in the Black Sea have increased significantly in recent years.

Molokhov stressed: "Our Black Sea Fleet will never allow NATO ships to dominate the Black Sea, no matter how much they want to expand their expansion to this region."

Russia has recently been claiming unprecedented NATO activity along its western borders. NATO is expanding initiatives and calls it "containing Russian aggression." Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the buildup of the alliance's forces in Europe. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said earlier that Russia poses no threat to anyone, but will not disregard actions that are potentially dangerous to its interests.
