As reported by the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the shipwreck happened this morning, there were 19 people on board - so far only two have been rescued. According to preliminary information, the vessel sank due to icing.

According to him, the fate of 17 sailors is still unknown. Two ships belonging to the RK named after V. Kalinin, "the Ministry of Emergencies is working."

The work is coordinated by the Marine Rescue Sub-Center, the press service of the Governor and the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region said. A group of rescue swimmers was raised on alarm; if necessary, they will be sent to the crash site.

It is reported that most of the crew members of the trawler "Onega" sunk in the Barents Sea were natives of the Murmansk region, there were also natives of other regions of the Russian Federation and former Soviet republics on board, as well as one born in Sierra Leone.

The sunken fishing vessel "Onega" was built in Norway in 1979, gross tonnage - 368 tons, home port - Murmansk, sailed under the flag of Russia. According to Marine Traffic, the vessel departed the Norwegian port of Kirkines on December 14, and last called Murmansk on December 11.
