OREANDA-NEWS. Geneva International Motor Show will not take place in 2020. The official website reports that the exhibition was canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic.

“We regret this situation, but the health of all participants is our and our exhibitors’ top priority. This is a case of force majeure and a tremendous loss for the manufacturers who have invested massively in their presence in Geneva. However, we are convinced that they will understand this decision,” the Chair of the Foundation Board Maurice Turrettini said.

The cancellation of the exhibition is connected with the ban on holding events with the number of participants over 1 thousand, imposed in Switzerland by the decision of the Federal Council. This restriction is valid from February 28 to at least March 15. Geneva International Motor Show should be open for the press on March 3, and it was planned that everyone could visit it from 5 to 15 of March.
