OREANDA-NEWS. As the newspaper "Kommersant" writes, bringing the relevant bill to the attention of the public, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia intends to allow Russians from the age of 17 to drive a car. The corresponding document was sent to the White House, and at the moment it is being examined by the analytical center under the government.

Today in Russia you can take an exam to obtain a driver's license at the age of 17, however, according to current legislation, a person gets the right to drive a car only from the age of 18.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs wants to allow driving a car from the age of 17, immediately after obtaining a license, because they believe that during this year the skills and knowledge of driving a car are lost. Therefore, the authorities propose to allow driving until the age of majority, but only if there is a mentor with a category B license in the car with a young driver. The driving procedure, as well as the necessary requirements for a "mentor" will later be outlined in a government decree.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs made some changes to the regulations for conducting an exam for a driver's license: now the practical part will be carried out only in traffic conditions.

In addition, according to the new regulations, the list of errors and violations will also be updated, for which you can get penalty points for passing the exam for obtaining rights. To successfully pass the exam, you must demonstrate safe driving skills and score no more than five penalty points.
