OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian–American mission Venera-D for exploring Venus and other missions connected to the planet are included in the draft of the Unified State Program of Russia for the period of 2021–2030. This was reported by the head of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities, Dmitry Rogozin.

The official specified that beside the Venera-D mission, Roscosmos specialists are considering projects for a separate flight to Venus. “Venus is a Russian planet, so we shouldn’t lag behind from others in its research,” Rogozin said, commenting on this.

In March 2019, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Sergeev, announced that a joint working group would be created in October 2019 to brainstorm the Venera-D mission and develop a budget to be submitted to Roscosmos and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (USA).
