OREANDA-NEWS The head of "Roscosmos", Dmitry Rogozin, took the initiative to retrofit the launch complex of Russian "Soyuz" rockets located at the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. This will make it possible to launch "Soyuz MS" manned spacecraft from it, the head of the state corporation wrote in his Telegram channel.

I believe that at the moment it is important for Russia and Europe to find new areas and directions for cooperation. One of such projects could be the retrofitting of the "Soyuz" launch complex in French Guiana to a manned level—" Rogozin wrote.

He also noted that using the proven Russian "Soyuz MS" spacecraft would be a "great idea" if European astronauts expressed a desire to get to the ISS on their own.

This will save European taxpayers billions of euros and give European cosmonautics the opportunity to quickly join the club of space powers with all competencies in manned flights," Rogozin added.

Earlier, the head of "Roscosmos", Dmitry Rogozin, said that the Vostochny cosmodrome will always be built. He explained this by saying that each new type of rocket requires its own launch complex.

So, the queue for "Soyuz-2" launch vehicles is already ready. The launch complex for Angara will be built by the end of this year. Then the construction of launch complexes for "Amur LNG" will begin.

Earlier it became known that the "Progress M S-19" cargo ship, which was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Tuesday, will dock with the International Space Station. This was reported to TASS by the press service of "Roscosmos". It is assumed that mooring and docking will take place automatically. All operations from Earth will be controlled by specialists of the Mission Control Center, cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov from the ISS.
