OREANDA-NEWS Vladimir Putin, in order to ensure the safety of Russian citizens, on June 21 signed a decree temporarily prohibiting Russian airlines from starting July 8 to transport Russians from the territory of the Russian Federation to Georgia.

Tour operators and travel agents are advised to refrain from selling vouchers to Georgia to Russians.

This decision was made after the riots that occurred in Tbilisi on June 20 in connection with the arrival of a delegation of Russian deputies in Georgia to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (MAP). He was headed by State Duma Deputy Sergei Gavrilov. The meeting was held in the building of the Georgian parliament, and Gavrilov took the place of the speaker, in accordance with the regulations, which caused outrage of the Georgian opposition.

Previously, six airlines flew to Georgia: Aeroflot, S7, Ural Airlines, Pobeda, Red Wings and Nordavia.

Russians who have planned holidays in Georgia will have to look for other options for recreation.
