OREANDA-NEWSRussian Railways is discussing with the Ministry of Transport of the Philippines and major players in the country's construction market the possibility of jointly implementing infrastructure projects.

"Profile companies of the holding are working in this direction (starting joint projects in the Philippines) In conjunction with the Ministry of Transport of the Philippines and major players in the local construction market", the Russian Railways press service told the Russian media when answering the question about the readiness of the company's participation in the implementation of joint projects in this country.

The holding added that Railways are interested in developing cooperation with the Philippine side in the field of railway transport and are ready to consider possible mutually beneficial formats for entering the Philippine market for infrastructure construction.

In addition, Russian Railways plans to replenish the fleet of locomotives by 1,379 units in 2019-2020, their cost will be 194.7 billion rubles. This was stated by the CEO of the holding Oleg Belozerov, the words of which are given in the press release of Russian Railways. "According to him, this year the company will adjust the procurement program and is planning to purchase 709 locomotives to the amount of 92.5 billion rubles. The plan for 2020 is 670 units to the amount of 102.2 billion rubles", the holding said in a press release. Earlier it was reported that all Railways are planning to purchase 5.9 thousand locomotives until 2025.

Recently, Russian Railways create a unified supply and procurement center for the company’s needs. This was reported to the Russian media in the press service of the holding. The unit will combine the functions of the Russian railway supply - a branch of Russian Railways.
