OREANDA-NEWS. Rescuers found the bodies of those killed in the crash of the An-26 plane in Kamchatka, Russian media reported on Wednesday, July 7, citing the head of the region, Vladimir Solodov.

«The first bodies begin to get out (from the water. - Ed.) By the number of (dead. - Ed.) the situation is changing all the time», he said, adding that forensic experts are working on the spot, who will make decisions depending on the condition of the bodies and procedures.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported the discovery of the bodies of nine victims, one body was identified. On the morning of July 7, the Kamchatka-inform agency distributed the first footage of the rescue operation at the crash site.

The AN-26 plane, flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the village of Palana, crashed on the afternoon of July 6. According to one version, the cause of the crash could be a pilot error in poor visibility conditions. The wreckage of the plane was found near the village and in the Sea of Okhotsk.

There were 28 people on board the An-26 22 passengers and six crew members. According to preliminary data, all of them dead. A three-day mourning period has been declared in the region. The families of the victims will be paid compensation in the amount of more than $47,7 thousand.
