OREANDA-NEWS For the first time since 2015, Ukraine allowed a Russian aircraft to enter its airspace.

A passenger airliner of Globus Airlines, flying from Italy back to the Russian Federation, was forced to fly over Ukrainian territory due to a powerful thunderstorm front.

“On August 7, 2019, the pilot of the Boeing-738 REG-VQBMG aircraft, performing flight GLP636 from Bari (Italy) to Moscow (RF), received permission to use the airspace of Ukraine in connection with active thunderstorm activity”.

It is noted that the plane flew over the Lviv region.

Permission was granted due to the likelihood of an emergency during the flight. The liner was in the Ukrainian airspace for 26 minutes.
