OREANDA-NEWS. The National Space Council of the United Kingdom will develop the first national space strategy during 2021, including the establishment of a space command and the development of capacities for launching satellites from the country. This is stated in the review of the defense and foreign policy of the United Kingdom.

«The national space strategy 2021 will establish an integrated approach to military and civilian space policy, under which we will establish a new space command by the summer of 2021, so that the British armed forces have the advanced capabilities to advance the country's interests both on Earth and in space», the document says.

«By 2022, it is planned to develop capacities for commercial satellite launches from the UK — from Scotland. This will give us greater strategic autonomy and flexibility as to what and when the UK sends into space», the review highlights.
