OREANDA-NEWSUral Airlines and U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing are discussing options for compensation for disruption of deliveries of Boeing 737 MAX 8. A Ural Airlines press service told the Russian media. Thus, Ural Airlines became the first airline in Russia to publicly announce plans to compensate for the delay in delivery of this model aircraft.

“We are constantly working with Boeing and discussing possible compensation options”, the press service said in response to a question about whether the company plans to demand compensation from Boeing. “Potential benefits and other compensations can be expressed in various forms, not necessarily in cash payments (equipment / functionality, services, etc.)".

Ural Airlines and Boeing signed a contract in the spring of 2018 for the supply of 14 Boeing 737 MAX 8, it was originally planned that deliveries would begin in October 2019.

The operation of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft was suspended after two accidents. In Ethiopia, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 of Ethiopian Airlines crashed on March 10, 157 people were killed, and October 29, 2018, 189 people became victims of the crash of an aircraft of a similar model of Lion Air in Indonesia.
