OREANDA-NEWSYandex is expanding its first testing of unmanned vehicles outside of Russia, which will be held in Israel, without an engineer. As the Russian media reported, in the company, together with the launch of testing, Yandex will form in the country a team of engineers and developers who will be engaged in the development of unmanned technology.

Specialists will work together with the Russian team to develop technology for unmanned vehicle control, as well as solve problems arising during testing in this country", the company said. At the moment, the company is testing technology in Russia, has permission to test in Nevada, conducts the development of unmanned technology in Minsk.

At the first stage, an engineer should have been in the car. His task was to give his opinion on the safety of testing unmanned vehicles on public roads with a driver behind the wheel.


So, explained in the press service, testing in different countries and regions allows you to test the technology in different conditions and make it more versatile and scalable. "In the course of testing in Israel, unmanned vehicles of Yandex will learn to work in different road conditions that are not available in other regions. The ability to operate an unmanned vehicle in different situations is an important condition for the rapid launch of technology in new territories", the company said. Yandex has tested the first prototypes of unmanned vehicles in the spring of 2017. Today, test zones are already working in Skolkovo and in Innopolis. In early 2019, Yandex began testing unmanned vehicles accompanied by engineers in Israel, and also showed an unmanned vehicle at CES in Nevada.
