OREANDA-NEWS. Private individuals will not have to produce their passports to buy foreign currency from banks in Belarus. President Alexander Lukashenko signed a corresponding decree on 29 May.

The National Bank is instructed to ensure the harmonization of legal acts with the present document and take other measures for the implementation of the decree within three months.

The decree aims to liberalize the foreign currency regime and simplify foreign currency exchange operations. It will enter info force after its official publication.
