OREANDA-NEWS According to the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor on Homeland Security, “it would be pretty difficult to talk about homeland security” if we didn’t check people who enter the country. Speaking on Hungarian M1 television’s Thursday evening current affairs program, Gy?rgy Bakondi stressed: Border security is the key to homeland security.

As Mr. Bakondi explained, thanks to the Hungarian measures the number of people entering the country illegally has fall to practically zero, “but the system will also be able to prevent mass, illegal and aggressive migration in the case of much higher pressure”.

According to Mr. Bakondi, it would be important to review the decisions made following the end of the cold war on reducing the numbers, budget, sphere of competence and equipment of the various security services. In addition to defence on the part of nation states, the European Union should also rethink the organisation, unification and command of its external and internal defence mechanisms”, the Prime Minister’s Chief Security Advisor added.
