OREANDA-NEWS. Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen will lead a Team Finland visit to the United Arab Emirates on 16-19 January 2017. He will be accompanied by a delegation of 20 companies representing mainly the energy and construction sectors, including smart building. Investments to Finland will also be promoted during the visit.

High-level meetings organised during the visit will help promote Finnish companies' business contacts and projects in the United Arab Emirates. Minister Mykkänen and his delegation members will meet both Emirati ministers and public sector representatives in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The programme includes visits to different companies. Additionally, Minister Mykkänen will speak at the Waste Management Solutions Forum, which is part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2017.

The United Arab Emirates is Finland’s second biggest export destination in the Middle East and the country offers significant business opportunities for Finnish companies. Its economic outlook is promising and economic growth has continued to be stable. The country is continuing its major infrastructure and development projects in order to diversify the structure of the economy and to become less dependent on oil and gas. There is demand not only for large infrastructure projects but also for high-level technology and expertise.

The visit is organised together with Finpro, which is part of Team Finland.
