OREANDA-NEWS  Hungarian police, who will be taking part in border control operations, have set off for Serbia and Macedonia, the Police website announced on Monday.

According to the statement, 15 Hungarian police officers are travelling to Macedonia and 30 are on their way to Serbia, and will be primarily tasked with reinforcing border security along the Macedonian-Greek and Serbian-Bulgarian borders.

The Hungarian police officers will be performing patrol duties to prevent and investigate illegal border crossings, in addition to apprehending people smugglers and illegal immigrants entering the territory of Macedonia and Serbia.

The Hungarian contingents will not only be on duty in the direct vicinity of the border, but also on major and minor roads, the statement added.

Both contingents will be reinforcing the protection of the relevant border with all train vehicles, night vision equipment and hand-held heat cameras.
