OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with two-party delegation of the U.S. Congress, which included members of the House of Representatives Jeff Denham, Michael Bost, Bruce Westerman, Rodney Davis, Mark DeSaulnier, Mike Capuano, Carlos Curbelo, Douglas LaMalfa, Blake Farenthold and Robert Aderholt.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the consistent bipartisan support of Ukraine by the U.S. Congress in the issue of countering the ongoing Russian aggression and enhancement of Ukraine’s sustainability through the implementation of relevant reforms.

In this context, the parties discussed strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capacity, funding of security aid to our state by the U.S. budget and enhancement of investment and trade-economic cooperation.

Petro Poroshenko informed on the situation in Donbas and ongoing violations of the ceasefire regime by the militants controlled by Russia.

In this regard, the parties noted the necessity of preserving and increasing the international sanctions against Russia until full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Crimea.
