OREANDA-NEWS  President Petro Poroshenko instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to verify the efficiency of abolition of additional registration for the foreign drugs registered in the countries of the EU and G7, and their prices in the Ukrainian pharmacies.

The Head of State noted that the medical system requires urgent reform. However, several important steps in this issue have already been made: registration of drugs registered in the EU and G7 countries has been abolished. “This is a resolute step to overcome corruption and bureaucracy,” the President emphasized.

The Head of State noted that the goal of that step was to keep the prices for those drugs in Ukraine at the level of the EU and USA. “I instruct the Government to thoroughly verify the efficiency of abolition of additional registration for the best foreign drugs and their prices,” Petro Poroshenko said. He added that the government officials must explain the difference in prices in case there is one.

The President told that the budget envisaged funds for reimbursement this year, so that certain categories of people will have access to free medicines. “It was made not only at the cost of the state budget of Ukraine, but also due to an efficient interaction with our foreign partners,” he said.

The President added that those steps are not enough and the government will continue the healthcare reform.
