OREANDA-NEWS. RBC news agency reports that the trunk gas pipeline Yamburg – Yelets-2, owned by Russian corporation Gazprom, caught fire in the urban district Gornozavodsky of the Perm Krai.

According to the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the gas ignited on February 25 at 21:15 local time (16:15 UTC). The press service of the company Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky informs that there are no injured people, and gas is supplied to consumers through parallel gas pipelines in full amount. “Units are preparing for restoration work,” the report says.

Representatives of emergency services report that a breach on the Yamburg – Yelets-2 gas pipeline appeared 12 kilometers from the village of Srednyaya Usva, located in the north-west of the region. A source of Interfax agency said that no one was hurt during the incident, there is no threat to the population, and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are liquidating the breakdown.
