Airbnb Suspends Beijing Housing Reservation until May Due to Coronavirus

OREANDA-NEWS. Airbnb, a US-based online service, has suspended reservations in Beijing until May due to an outbreak of a new type of coronavirus. This was reported on Wednesday by an American news agency.
"In addition to Beijing, local authorities requested that the reservation be canceled also in Wuxi and the Yongchuan city submission area of Chongqing", the agency quoted the company as saying. Earlier it was reported that Airbnb suspended the booking of apartments in Beijing until the end of February.
An outbreak of the disease caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19, Corona Virus Disease - 2019) was recorded in the large Chinese city of Wuhan in late December 2019. The World Health Organization recognized it as an emergency of international proportions, describing it as an epidemic with many foci. Outside of China, cases of infection were detected in 24 countries, including Russia.
The Chinese authorities have already confirmed more than 44.6 thousand cases of infection with a new coronavirus, more than 1.1 thousand infected have died, more than 4.7 thousand people have recovered.
