OREANDA-NEWS. As stated in the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Albania, this country will expel Russian diplomat Alexei Krivosheev because of the violation of anti-coronavirus measures.

The department informed that they applied to Mikhail Afanasyev, the Russian ambassador in the capital of the country, Tirana, and expressed worrying about the violation of the sanitary demands by the diplomatic mission official.

The Albanian ministry marked that “unfortunately, despite the promises he made to them, the Russian diplomat went on violating the arrangements made. As a result, the Albanian authorities were forced to make a decision to declare diplomat Alexei Krivosheev persona non grata. He is now obliged to leave the country within 72 hours from the moment of the official notification ".

At the same time, official Tirana expressed the hope that Russia will understand that this decision is just a forced measure to protect public health. The Albanian side assured the Russian colleagues of friendly feelings and readiness for continuous improvement of relations between the countries.

The Russian Embassy in Albania considers the accusations against Krivosheev to be unfounded, the diplomatic mission told RIA Novosti.

The staff of the diplomatic mission said that they consider "all the accusations against the Russian diplomat contained in these documents as unfounded." Also, the Russian side notes that the indication in the press release of the name and surname of our employee grossly contradicts established international diplomatic practice. They added that the Russian Foreign Ministry was informed about the incident.
