OREANDA-NEWS. The President Petro Poroshenko thanked the President of Poland Andrzej Duda for maintaining a strong stand by the Polish partners and the European Union in condemning the Russian aggression against Ukraine as well as the illegal annexation of Crimea while supporting sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our state.

“We are thankful for your solidarity. We greatly appreciate the decision of Poland and the EU on the policy of imposing the sanctions on the aggressor as to both the Crimea and the aggression in the east of our country. When we say that the matter should be addressed by political and diplomatic methods only, this is the coordination that is the most efficient step,” Petro Poroshenko noted during the statement to press upon the meeting.

The Head of Ukrainian state informed that the parties discussed the extending of economic cooperation between Ukraine and Poland and exploiting of every opportunity offered by the signed Ukraine-EU Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement that came into force on 1 January 2016.
