OREANDA-NEWS. President Petro Poroshenko informed that in the framework of the general policy of de-occupation of Crimea, Ukraine would initiate the adoption of the UN General Assembly’s resolution on the human rights violations in Crimea. “We, in Ukraine, count on the international support for the given Ukrainian initiative,” the President said.

The UN General Assembly, which has got started these days in New York, has also to say its word in this regard, according to the President.

“Sufferings of the Ukrainian citizens have stopped long ago to be a responsibility of certain individuals. This is a systemic problem of the regime created by Kremlin in Russia,” the President said. Relevant expert consultations with Ukrainian partners are already underway and the international legal mechanisms of countering the aggressor must be used in full.

The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine would not recognize Russian parliamentary elections on the territory of Crimea. “We do not recognize the legitimacy of the Russian elections on the occupied territory of Ukraine,” he said.
