OREANDA-NEWS. The deadline to submit written comments has been extended from September 28 to October 3, 2016. The Agency is aware that some members of the public may not have been able to access the Registry Internet site due to a technical issue that occurred between September 16 - 18, 2016. The issue is now resolved. As a result, the Agency has extended the deadline for the submission of public comments to October 3, 2016.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is conducting a federal environmental assessment of the proposed BURNCO Aggregate Mine Project, located on the northwest shore of Howe Sound, approximately 22 kilometres southwest of Squamish, British Columbia.

A public comment period will take place from August 15, 2016 to September 28, 2016.

The project is subject to review under both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Act, and is undergoing a cooperative environmental assessment with B.C.'s Environmental Assessment Office (EAO).

Comments need only be submitted once to either the Agency or the EAO to be considered for both the provincial and federal environmental assessments. All comments received will be considered public.
