OREANDA-NEWS  On the ships "Kandy" and "Maestro", caught fire in the Black sea on the evening of January 21, was 32 people, not 31, as previously reported with reference to the press service of Rosmorrechflot.

On the ship "Maestro" was 15 sailors, not 14, as previously reported, explained the press service. Thus, as a result of the incident, 11 people were killed, 12 were saved, and nine were missing, Rosmorrechflot said.​

"Kandy" and "Maestro", following the flag of Tanzania, caught fire in the neutral waters of the Black sea near the Kerch Strait in the evening of January 21. In Rosmorrechflot said it occurred during refueling.

The investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the death of crew members of two ships caught fire in the neutral waters of the Black sea.

The case was opened under the article of the criminal code on causing death by negligence of two or more persons (part 3 of article 109 of the criminal code), to investigate the incident will be the southern investigation Department of the UK transport.

In the Novorossiysk sea rescue coordination center warned about the threat of explosion on "Kandy"and " Maestro".

Two vessels under the flag of Tanzania caught fire in the evening of January 21 in the Kerch Strait, both of them were anchored in neutral waters. According to preliminary data, the fire broke out during the overload of fuel from one vessel to another.

The press service of Rosmorrechflot said that the victims of the incident, according to 22:00 GMT, were 11 people, 12 sailors were raised from the water alive. The operation to find the remaining sailors continues.
