OREANDA-NEWSAustria will be the first in Europe after April 14 to begin a phased easing of the restrictions that were introduced to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. This was announced on Friday by the Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Consumer Protection of Austria Rudolf Anschober.

The minister said that the first stage of the fight against coronavirus was aimed at reducing the daily growth of infected people. The authorities, thanks to the discipline of the population to comply with restrictions, managed to achieve this. In mid-March, daily growth reached 40%, in April it fell to no more than 3%. The second stage should begin after Easter - April 14th.

“Austria is the first country in Europe to carry out this phased discovery, so at this stage we need to be very careful”, the minister informed at a press conference in Vienna. According to the Ministry of Health of Austria, in April there was a tendency to slow down the growth in the number of people infected with coronavirus. Of the 13,404 infected, 6,064 recovered, 319 died.
