OREANDA-NEWSThe Belarusian parliament plans to ratify agreements on visa facilitation and readmission with the European Union on April 2-3 at the spring session. This was announced on Tuesday by the chairman of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives Andrei Savinykh.

Agreements on visa facilitation and readmission between Belarus and the EU were signed in early January 2020. "Given all the procedural aspects, we believe that this agreement will be ratified in priority order. It will be on April 2, maximum 3", Savinykh said. He expressed confidence that when the coronavirus epidemic declines and people resume traveling abroad, Belarusians "will already use this agreement and the cost of visas will be lower".

Earlier, the head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Dirk Schuebel, said that the EU expects the ratification of the agreements with Minsk to be completed soon. The new agreements will simplify Belarusians obtaining a visa to the EU, lower its cost to € 35. The EU Council is expected to be able to complete ratification of the agreements in June.
