OREANDA-NEWSThe Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Affairs of Serbia Zoran Djordjevic called unacceptable the fact that Russia and Serbia were not invited to Poland for the ceremony of the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II. He stated this on Tuesday during a conference of organizers of the action of the Immortal Regiment in the Serbia Palace in Belgrade.

“Not so long ago we passed a law according to which one of the state actions will be on May 9, therefore the procession of the Immortal Regiment is included in the state program, the action will be held every year on May 9 with our friends around the world. This is especially important now when there are attempts to redraw history and reduce the contribution of Russia and Serbia to the Second World War, although our countries are among those who suffered the greatest losses. The Conference of the organizers of the Immortal Regiment provides an opportunity to raise a voice against those who volil Statement September 1 do not call Russia and Serbia to the ceremony to mark the start of the Second World War, while Russia and Serbia may have made the biggest contribution to the fight against fascism, not to call us. This is unacceptable", said the Minister.

"President Vladimir Putin personally attends the rally of the Immortal Regiment in Russia. Not so long ago, our president Aleksandar Vuchich also took part in the march on Victory Day and walked with the Russian leader. I hope that this tradition and this mass of the Immortal Regiment "it will be repeated in Serbia", said Djordjevic. Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić recalled that Serbia was not invited to Warsaw, although the Serbian people are proportionally one of the most affected in World War II. In his opinion, revisionism of history must be fought with facts and truth.
