OREANDA-NEWS. The United Arab Emirates has taken the first place in the world in terms of the rate of vaccination of the population against COVID-19, Bloomberg reports. According to the media, 15.5 million vaccinations were made in the UAE. This amount is enough to vaccinate 72.1 percent of the country's 10 million population. The Seychelles is on a second place, where 71.7 percent of the population has been vaccinated.

Nevertheless, despite the decrease in the daily increase in deaths, the number of cases of COVID-19 in the UAE remains high. The agency notes that the United States, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom recently included the UAE in their list of countries where travel is not recommended due to the increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infection.

Israel, which was one of the first to start mass immunization, is in 9th place in the Bloomberg rating (59.7% of vaccination). Bahrain (69.2%), Malta, Maldives, San Marino (65.5%), Iceland (61%) and Chile (60%) are also in the top ten countries.
