OREANDA-NEWS Britain is about to withdraw its troops almost entirely from Afghanistan. This information is reported by the Times newspaper. What percentage of the contingent will be withdrawn is not specified.

There are currently 750 members of the United Kingdom Army in the Middle East. As the newspaper writes, the rest of the troops will have a difficult time without the support of the United States, since the British fully relied on American infrastructure.

In addition, the British can transfer control of the academy, where the British military trained Afghan soldiers, to the Afghan government.

Earlier, representatives of the Taliban terrorist group banned in Russia announced that they would not participate in conferences on Afghanistan until the foreign military contingent was withdrawn from the country.

Prior to this, a White House source said that US President Joseph Biden is going to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan before September 11. The withdrawal period was extended to avoid a war with terrorists.
