OREANDA-NEWS. The British Foreign Office said that London would send war crimes experts to Ukraine in early May. They will collect information about possible offenses, according to a statement released by the department, TASS reports.

According to the information received, experts, including those involved in the investigation of cases of sexual violence in the war zone, will be able to "help the Ukrainian government."

According to the document, they will head to Poland in the first half of May, where they will meet with "international partners, representatives of non-governmental organizations and refugees" to discuss the specific assistance that they can provide in the investigation.

Earlier it was reported that the UK will send eight thousand troops to participate in exercises in Eastern Europe. They will be devoted to working out counteraction to hypothetical Russian aggression. The exercises are scheduled for the summer, they should be one of the largest since the end of the Cold War.

The maneuvers will take place in countries from Finland to North Macedonia. They will be attended by tens of thousands of NATO troops and the Joint Expeditionary Force, created in 2014, commanded by the UK. Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Estonia participate in the expeditionary force.
