Bundestag Deputy Called for the Dissolution of NATO

OREANDA-NEWS. The left party of the German parliament called for the dissolution of NATO. According to representatives of the Bundestag, the North Atlantic Alliance is a threat to the whole world.
“NATO is not just outdated: today, the alliance is a serious threat to world security,” said Alexander Noi, member of the Bundestag, in an interview with the newspaper. He called for "finally come to their senses" and for Germany to withdraw from the North Atlantic Alliance, before "it was too late." According to the deputy, NATO "is actively expanding the weapons and repeatedly goes to a new confrontation," which needs to be "put an end to." He added that imperialistic thinking and the fear of losing economic and ideological superiority are pushing NATO toward increased confrontation.
According to Noah, the 70th anniversary of the creation of NATO is hardly a reason for joy. It is rather an excuse that should lead to a rethinking before it is too late. Today, the military bloc is the most powerful and armed alliance in the world. It accounts for more than half of global military spending. It was during the last twenty years that NATO showed "its true face", the deputy emphasized. We are talking about an internationally-illegal war with Yugoslavia, fighting in Afghanistan, as well as other foreign operations that have led to numerous victims in order to preserve power and protect resources.
At the same time, Noah said that Germany needed to create a "collective security system with the participation of Russia" and take a course on disarmament.
