OREANDA-NEWS. The second wave of the spread of coronavirus infection will occur in November. This opinion was expressed in an interview by the head of the expert group on the treatment of pneumonia in Shanghai, Zhang Wenhong, according to Sina.

The specialist explained his position by saying that COVID-19 is more adapted to low temperatures, and therefore it is likely that it will spread faster in winter.

At the same time, Zhang Wenhong expressed confidence that the next wave will no longer be so swift. The main problems, he said, may arise in Africa and South America, where the health system does not have sufficient resources to fight the disease. In late March, an expert in an interview with a news publication suggested that the global spread of coronavirus would stop closer to June, but this year it would not be possible to completely defeat the disease.

Commenting on the assumption that the virus detected at the end of last year in Wuhan could mutate and spread in Europe in a more aggressive form, the expert said that it was too early to talk about it.
