OREANDA-NEWS. Despite bad weather, people left to King Drive to celebrate the 154th anniversary of emancipation in America. Celebration of Juneteenth Milwaukee was held on Wednesday.
There took place the festive parade in the morning, and in the afternoon – the charitable party was held. A holiday McArthur headed IAC Weddle – the executive director of Northcott Neighborhood House. Weddle arrived to Northcott in 1977. He will leave already in these days off.
Milwaukee's first Juneteenth Day celebration was in 1971. At the opening ceremony Weddle was awarded with official thanks. He made much for this community and made a set of efforts for it.
