OREANDA-NEWS. The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is becoming the main instrument for upholding the economic interests of member states, and its weight in the rest of the world is growing. This was announced on Thursday by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin, speaking at the I Eurasian Analytical Forum on the theme "EAEU: experience, problems, development and security priorities (on the fifth anniversary of its formation)".

“Its union is growing in authority and appeal”, he said. Pankin said that the plans for the further integration of the EAEU in the near future include the creation of unified energy and financial markets.

“Objective economic processes predetermine the inevitability of the restoration and development of the once-broken cooperation ties and building effective regional integration interaction”, he said. “Only together we have the chance to secure our rightful place in the global economy and can count on the fair participation of our countries in international division of labor and value chains".
