«With the deep sadness Her Majesty the Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh», the statement said.

As specified, the Duke died on Friday, April 9. On March 16, the Duke of Edinburgh was released from hospital after a month-long hospitalization, he returned to Windsor Castle in Berkshire. He died early in the morning at Windsor Castle.
