Elizabeth II's Husband Prince Philip Dies
OREANDA-NEWS. The husband of the British Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh Philip has died at the age of 100, Buckingham Palace announced on Twitter.
«With the deep sadness Her Majesty the Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh», the statement said.
As specified, the Duke died on Friday, April 9. On March 16, the Duke of Edinburgh was released from hospital after a month-long hospitalization, he returned to Windsor Castle in Berkshire. He died early in the morning at Windsor Castle.
Prince Philip broke the longevity record for men descended from Queen Victoria on December 15, 2016. Prior to this, the record was held by Carl Johan Bernadotte (died May 5, 2012 at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 5 days).
On January 17, 2019, Prince Philip was involved in an accident in which his car overturned from a collision with another car. Two people from the other car suffered minor injuries.
