OREANDA-NEWSThe EU will have to convene an emergency summit on Britain's withdrawal from the community after a planned meeting of EU leaders on October 17 and 18, if Michel Barnier, the main negotiator of Brussels, does not receive a deal from London before the end of Tuesday. This was announced to reporters by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, on the sidelines of the meeting of the EU Council on General Affairs.

"There is some optimism, Barnier is trying to reach a deal tonight. Otherwise, we will likely need another summit before the end of this month", Asselborn said. According to European sources, at the moment the proposals of London are still not satisfied with Brussels. The House of Commons and the government of Boris Johnson clashed in the final battle, which will determine the course of Brexit. Early elections, leaving the EU without a deal and even a second referendum - all of these scenarios can become a reality.
