OREANDA-NEWSThe main topics of the upcoming G-20 summit, which will be held from 28 to 29 June in Osaka, should be the situation in the global economy and trade, as well as issues related to the environment. This was announced on Friday by a source in the Japanese Foreign Ministry. "Among the planned topics for discussion should be the global economy, trade and investment, innovation, climate change and the environment", he said. In particular, with regard to the economy, the leaders of the G-20 countries intend to reaffirm the importance of ensuring global economic growth, as well as ensuring fair and free trade.

The summit also plans to touch on the creation of an international system for taxing digital corporations. This issue was raised at a meeting of finance ministers and heads of central banks of the G-20 in Fukuoka in early June. Among the environmental problems attention will be paid, including the problems of plastic garbage in the ocean.

The G-20 summit will be the 14th in history and the first to be organized in Japan. The forum itself will be held on the artificial island of Sakisim in Osaka Bay. Osaka, with a population of almost 2.7 million, is the third largest city in Japan after Tokyo and Yokohama. It's one of the most important business and cultural centers of the country, the informal capital of the southwestern part of the main Japanese island of Honshu.

In connection with the summit in the city, serious restrictions will be imposed on transport, and the use of luggage storage facilities at major railway stations will be prohibited. At the central station of Osaka and from the streets in the area of the summit will remove all garbage cans. Since the end of May, announcements of upcoming restrictions in connection with the summit have been posted in most shops, at the gates of schools and kindergartens.
