OREANDA-NEWS. Unknown bandits killed more than a hundred civilians in Afghanistan, in the Spin-Boldak region of the Afghan province of Kandahar, after it was seized by militants of the radical Taliban movement. Tolo News, a local TV channel in Afghanistan, informs about this, based on information given by a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Afghan government believes that the Taliban, who control the area under their control, are to blame for the deaths of civilians.
According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mirwais Stanekzai, “the brutal terrorists, obeying the orders of their bosses from Punjab (Pakistan), organized an illegal robbery on the homes of innocent civilians of Afghanistan in some areas of Spin Boldak, ransacked their homes and killed hundreds of innocent people".

However, the Taliban themselves, according to the TV channel, do not admit their involvement in the massacre of civilians.
Previously, the Spin Boldak area on the border with Pakistan was already under the control of the Taliban, and then again controlled by government forces.

According to a RIA Novosti source, the point in the Spin-Boldak district on the Pakistani-Afghan border is especially important for both sides, because it has a strategic trade point.

It is recalled that Russia decided to strengthen its grouping in the region after the Taliban terrorist organization banned in Russia became active in Afghanistan.

The situation in Afghanistan escalated after the US and NATO countries began the official withdrawal of their military contingent on May 1. The Taliban forces intensified in the country, the militants began to seize vast territories. The Mujahid stated that the movement has captured and is holding 90 percent of Afghanistan's borders. The borders with Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are under full control.
